To kill or end a process Windows basically has its own Task Manager, that allows you to quickly end the programs which are not responding. The Task Manager allows you to end a specific running task or you can also end the complete process which is not responding quickly but there are also some programs that doesn’t terminate even if you kill or end them.

So, if you are facing such a similar problem than don’t worry because I have created this tutorial in which I will teach you that how you can end process using the Command Prompt. Terminating a program using the Command Prompt is very simple and easy and also doesn’t require you to remember a whole lot of commands. By using this simple trick you can easily end process the programs which are not responding or are being frozen. So, without further ado, let’s get ahead.
If you want to end process using the Command Prompt then follow the below given steps.
  • At first, open up the Windows Task Manager, you can simple open it by pressing the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys on your keyboard.
  • Then, click on the Process tab.
  • Now, select the process which you want to end or kill.
  • After that, click on Start button and type CMD in the Start search bar and then hit Enter key.
  • Then, in Command Prompt window, type taskkill /f /im and then hit space button and now in inverted commas type the name of the process that you want to end.
  • After that, press Enter key on your keyboard.
